Hearing about a car recall can be stressful, especially wondering if your particular model is affected by it. If you own a Nissan, naturally you want to see if your car is included in the latest Nissan recall. The most recent Nissan recall affects the Nissan Rogue and the Nissan Titan. This recall involves the transmission parking pawl, which may not engage during parking, causing the vehicle to roll away. This Nissan transmission recall is affecting over 200,000 vehicles, which need to have the pawl replaced.
If youre a Rogue or Titan driver, learning if the Nissan recalls affect you is simple and easy. Or as simple as entering your 17-character Vehicle Identification Number online can.
Recalls are a small step to take to make sure your car has the safest parts possible in it. Dont wait or ignore the problem until it’s too late. With just a few minutes online you can find the answer and have peace of mind very quickly. After that, the worst is largely over outside a visit to your friendly local dealership.
What to Do After Nissan recalls
Nissan recalls can happen for a range of reasons just like they do for other car manufacturers. The recent Nissan transmission recall is dealing with the transmission parking pawl. Other parts, from tires to internal electronics to even the engine can be potentially defective or otherwise problematic. Most of the time these recalls are safety-related, although they dont necessarily need to be. In instances like this, the manufacturer issues a recall and sends notice by mail to potentially affected vehicles.
There are also online databases maintained by manufacturers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to look this information up. If your vehicle is affected, call your dealerships service department and schedule an appointment. There your car can receive a much-needed replacement.
Making a Nissan Recall Check Explained
Looking for the Nissan recall check is as simple as accessing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website. From there, entering your unique 17-character VIN you can see if your vehicle was affected by the recall. Nissan offers its own Recall Lookup Tool that can be accessed through its website as well. Since April of 2021, Nissan has discovered issues with certain versions of Internet Explorer and the Recall Lookup Tool. Since then, Nissans recommended using a different web browser to access their site or to check the NHTSA website directly.
Lets say, for example, youre a Nissan Rogue or Titan driver looking to see if your vehicle is included in the Nissan transmission recall. You would find the 17-character VIN, located on the lower left of your cars windshield. Its also listed on the cars registration card (and possibly the insurance card.) The VIN should be enough to know if your Rogue or Titan is included in the recall. From there, if included, you call your dealership and schedule an appointment to get the transmission parking pawl fixed immediately.
Nobody wants to go through a recall, but its the best decision for the safety and well-being of all involved. At Nissan of Rocky Mountain we’ve been proudly serving the Rocky Mount, North Carolina, community for over 40 years. Over that time, we’ve seen some Nissan recalls. Year-in and year-out one of the most consistently popular and well-rated Nissan models is the Nissan Altima. Of all the years its been on our roads, which years model was the best Nissan Altima year? Nissan has been making the Altima in some form or another since 1992, with six generations over the years. Which of these years has been the best model years for the Nissan Altima?
Today were going to take a closer look at the history of the Nissan Altima. Looking at different years and generations well see which stands out best among the rest.
First, well offer a brief overview of the history of the Altima and the differences in its six generations. After that, well show some model years to keep in mind at the Nissan Altima dealer.
The History of the Nissan Altima
The Nissan Altima first went into production in 1992, an upsized continuation of Nissans Bluebird line. The first generation ran from 1993 until 1997. While there were some cosmetic and performance changes made during that time, the first generation Altima remained largely the same. It started with a 150 horsepower engine, and the option between a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
Second-generation Altimas were exclusive to the North American market, made from 1997 to 2001. They redesigned the interior and made some performance upgrades.
The next big change to the Nissan Altima happened in 2001 with the third generation. Running from 2001 to 2006, this generation used a new chassis increasing its interior space. This changed the Altima from a compact car to a mid-sized model, although still somewhat compact overall.
By the time the fourth generation of Altimas came out in 2007, design changes between lines saw an increased variety. Two-door coupe versions were introduced in 2008, as well as the first hybrid Altima models.
The fifth generation was seen as a return to form, boasting a design redesigned from the inside out and focused on automatic transmissions. The most recent generation, the sixth generation, began in 2019.
The Best Nissan Altima Sale Years
Looking at the Best Nissan Altima Sale Years, there are a few years in particular worth noticing, 2019. The 2019 Nissan Altima, the beginning of the recent sixth generation, was one of the most decorated and celebrated models. The 2019 Altima was the ILHS Safety Pick, the Motorweek 2019 Drivers Choice, and the 2019 Car & Driver Editors Choice. Automobile Magazine wrote in 2019: Beware to those who underestimate this car!
We agree the 2019 Altima, and the sixth generation as a whole, are not Nissan to be dismissed or underestimated. The 2021 Altima is similarly well-regarded as a sixth-generation Nissan, including accolades from J.D. Power.
The 2012 Nissan Altima is also a model to consider if youre interested in a fourth-generation Altima. Both 2011 and 2012 models were made with being budget-friendly in mind. On the used and resale markets, most likely, that budget-friendliness is still an aspect of the 2012 Altima. If youre looking for a dependable car regardless of age, the 1994 Altima has a nearly unanimously positive reputation. Kelley Blue Book similarly records an almost glowingly positive take on the first-generation Nissans.
Since its introduction in 1992 and over six generations, the Nissan Altima has provided a solid compact-to-mid-size driving experience. There are models from each generation that should stand out from the other Altima at the Nissan Altima dealer lot. Each year has something special. Maybe thats the almost unanimous dependability of 1994, the pinnacle of design in 2019, or the consistency of 2011. There may be some debate among diehards, but these years should be among the short list of contenders.

Auto manufacturers around the globe are launching new initiatives to create more environmentally friendly vehicles and sustainable practices. Nissan is helping lead the way with highly efficient vehicles and eco-friendly manufacturing. Nissan’s commitment to sustainability can be seen in several different vehicle models.
Even among Nissans gas engine models, environmental concerns are front and center. Nissan has put a great emphasis on sustainability for models like the Nissan Rogue, for example.
The Nissan Rogue is the brands top-selling model year after year. To help signal their commitment to sustainability, Nissan has made several eco-conscious changes to the Rogues performance and production. Here are some of the ways that the Nissan Rogue demonstrates Nissans dedication to sustainability.
2018 Nissan Rogue vs. 2022 Nissan Rogue: What Has Changed?
Taking a look back at past models is a good way to show the changes that the Nissan Rogue has undergone. While some improvements are expected year to year, the Nissan Rogue has undergone an impressive transformation in the last half-decade. Heres a look at how the latest Rogue models compare to the 2018 Nissan Rogue.
Fuel Economy
The 2018 Nissan Rogue had a fuel economy of 26 city miles per gallon and 33 highway MPGs. Those figures are not bad for a compact SUV. However, Nissan has made fuel efficiency a top priority for their best-selling vehicle in recent years. Today, the 2022 Nissan Rogue gets up to 30 cities and 37 highway MPGs. That makes it easily one of the top-performing compact SUVs in terms of fuel economy today.
Eco Mode
To make driving even more efficient in the Nissan Rogue, new models also come equipped with Eco Mode. This driving mode can be easily activated at any time to improve efficiency on the road. When Eco Mode is activated, some power is sacrificed for better fuel consumption. Many drivers stay in Eco Mode at all times on the road, while others only use it for city driving. Whatever your preferences, activating Eco Mode in your Nissan Rogue is a great way to use less gas.
Manufacturing
One of the most impressive ways that Nissan has improved its sustainability practices is in the Nissan Rogues manufacturing. Beginning with the 2021 Nissan Rogue, Nissan has implemented a closed-loop recycling system when manufacturing new Nissan Rogues.
With their new manufacturing process, Nissan uses a lightweight aluminum alloy to stamp the doors and hoods of all new Rogue models. The scrap metal from this alloy is then easily collected and reused for the manufacturing of future models. Nissan uses high-quality recycled aluminum alloy on each new Nissan Rogue they manufacture today.
Not only does this lead to more sustainable manufacturing, but it also makes the vehicle itself more eco-friendly. The lightweight aluminum alloy makes the Nissan Rogue more aerodynamic, leading to better fuel efficiency on the road.
This recycling program is part of Nissans Green Program 2022. Under this initiative, Nissan has pledged to replace, 30% of the raw materials used in cars built in 2022 with materials that dont rely on newly mined resources. This means that Nissan now uses more recycled and bioengineered materials in the manufacturing of all its vehicles, starting with the 2021 Nissan Rogue.
