The scrap metal from this alloy is then easily collected and reused for the manufacturing of future models. Nissan uses high-quality recycled aluminum alloy on each new Nissan Rogue they manufacture today.
Not only does this lead to more sustainable manufacturing, but it also makes the vehicle itself more eco-friendly. The lightweight aluminum alloy makes the Nissan Rogue more aerodynamic, leading to better fuel efficiency on the road.
This recycling program is part of Nissans Green Program 2022. Under this initiative, Nissan has pledged to replace, 30% of the raw materials used in cars built in 2022 with materials that dont rely on newly mined resources. This means that Nissan now uses more recycled and bioengineered materials in the manufacturing of all its vehicles, starting with the 2021 Nissan Rogue.
